O*NET-SOC 2010 crosswalk in O*NET OnLine

To assist early adapters of the recently released O*NET-SOC
2010 taxonomy, a crosswalk application from the new taxonomy to the
O*NET 2009 taxonomy has been incorporated within O*NET Online.
Clients can use a title or code from the O*NET-SOC 2010 taxonomy to
search within O*NET Online. Visit OnLine's Crosswalk Search page to
explore this updated crosswalk. The O*NET-SOC 2010 taxonomy is
currently scheduled to be incorporated in its entirety within O*NET
Online in the fall of 2011.

O*NET Database updated

With the release of the O*NET 16.0 development database,
comprehensive data is now available for 857 O*NET-SOC occupations,
including the 107 O*NET-SOCs updated within this release. The
database also includes the O*NET-SOC 2010 taxonomy and new
information about Green occupations and tasks. Find out more about

O*NET 15.1 Database released - Taxonomy Preview Database

The O*NET 15.1 Database is a special release that
incorporates the new O*NET-SOC 2010 taxonomy, including new
O*NET-SOC codes, titles, and descriptions. This database can help
developers, programs, and researchers make a rapid transition to a
2010 SOC-based system. With the release of O*NET 15.1, for the
first time, the O*NET database is available as SQL files for use in
Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and Oracle; and also as tab-delimited

Products at Work updated

The Recent Stories section of O*NET Products at Work has been
updated with new summaries describing how users (businesses,
educational institutions, government agencies, military services,
researchers) have leveraged O*NET products and tools to improve
their programs and provide services to customers. Download the
Spring 2011 version or submit your own story in our Using O*NET
section.

Updated MOC crosswalk in O*NET OnLine

O*NET OnLine's Crosswalk Search enables users of a variety of
occupational coding systems to find matching O*NET-SOC occupations.
The Military Occupational Classification (MOC) crosswalk has been
updated by the Department of Defense (April 2011) and incorporated
into O*NET OnLine's Crosswalk Search. Over 10,000 MOC occupations
are linked to related O*NET-SOC occupations. The MOC crosswalk
helps transitioning military personnel locate appropriate civilian
jobs.

Summary of Procedures for O*NET Task Updating and New Task Generation available

A summary of the procedures for updating and writing new
O*NET tasks has been released. The paper describes steps to collect
relevant information to update or generate new O*NET tasks (e.g.,
New and Emerging (NE) and Green tasks). Read the procedural

Tools and Technology database updated

The tools and technology (T2) file provides information on
machines, equipment, tools, and software that workers may use for
optimal functioning in a high performance workplace. With this
update, over 43,000 tools and technologies have now been identified
for 629 occupations, including all 200+ O*NET Green occupations.
The O*NET Project welcomes feedback on the T2 database. T2
information for 198 occupations has been enhanced with the help of
customer input. After reviewing an occupation's current T2
information, you can submit specific suggestions for adding more
examples of tools or technology through our T2 feedback process.

Updated O*NET Ability Profiler Scoring Software released

The O*NET Ability Profiler Scoring Program (APSP) software
4.0 has been released, using new Occupational Ability Profiles
(OAPs) produced from the O*NET 15.0 production database. Read the

Tools and Technology paper released

This new paper identifies the objectives of the Tools and
Technology quality control (QC) process and describes the processes
put in place to achieve those objectives. Download this document

O*NET Toolkit for Business updated

The O*NET Toolkit for Business provides human resources
professionals and employers with useful information about the
features of O*NET and how it can assist them with everyday needs.
The Toolkit has been updated to highlight new search features and
content such as Bright Outlook and Green Occupations. View and

New features and new data in O*NET OnLine

Highlights of this fall update include: 1) comprehensively
updated data for 107 occupations from the O*NET 16.0 database, 2)
identification and display of green tasks in the occupation
reports, and 3) the conversion to the new 2010 Standard
Occupational Classification (SOC) standard. The new O*NET-SOC 2010
taxonomy includes 1110 occupational titles, 974 of which represent
O*NET data-level occupations. Additionally, the OnLine update
includes the latest BLS wage data along with updated crosswalks to
